Joanna Styczeń is a laureate of the National Science Center competition under the PRELUDIUM-20 program

Joanna Styczeń received funding for a research project entitled “The mechanism and products of alite hydration in the presence of minerals from the zeolite group”. Funding is awarded by National Science Center competition under the PRELUDIUM-20 program. The project concerns the use of synthetic zeolites as a pozzolanic additive to alite (the main component of cement) and the identification of processes and products formed during the hydration reaction. The research will be carried out on 3 types of zeolites (low, medium and high silicate). The variables will be the maturation time and the degree of replacement of alite by zeolite. The key task of the project will be the analysis of the solid – products resulting from the hydration of the alite-zeolite system. For this purpose, synchrotron measurement techniques will be used, with particular emphasis on diffraction and microscopic methods. The hydration mechanism of the alite-zeolite system will be described by means of molecular modeling.

Congratulations Asia !!!
