Summary of 2020

The beginning of the year is the time for summaries. Despite the global COVID-19 epidemic, 2020 was a special year for MSA team. Our human resources potential was strengthened by:  PhD Ewelina Grabias, PhD Eng. Maria Rybarczyk, PhD Eng. Joanna Fronczyk (employed in the post-doc positions) and MSc Martyna Janek (PhD student). We have published 19 papers in prestigious scientific journals indexed on the Journal Citation Reports list. In addition to three currently implemented research projects (TEAM-NET and two projects under the LIDER action), we obtained funding for two more grants: “Sustainable production of Cellulose-based products and additives to be used in SMEs and rural areas”, a project financed by the European Commission H2020 and “The use of waste materials in the microwave technology of obtaining ceramic aggregates” project financed by the National Center for Research and Development under the SG OP (Application Projects).

Moreover we obtained protection rights in the Polish Patent Office for 8 of our inventions. The developed patent solutions and know-how reports were commercialized by six entrepreneurs and were the basis for obtaining subsidies for research and development by these economic entities.

Professor Wojciech Franus ( the leader of MSA Team) was decorated by the Prime Minister with the “Meritorious for Invention” and He received  the Polish Intelligent Development Award in the Scientist of the Future category. He was included in the prestigious ranking of the most influential people of science in the world – called TOP 2% list. Dr inż. Agnieszka Woszuk was awarded the Merit for Intelligent Development award.
